Frequently Asked Questions
Does the agreement apply to the photochromic categories that were created in April 2020? What will the VSP Ophthalmic Product Formulary look like on January 1, 2021? In support of greater product choice, all photochromic lenses, from all suppliers, will be included in Category B. While it may take some time for this change to appear across all systems, including Practice Management Systems, all claims will be paid at the Category B reimbursement amounts effective January 1, 2021. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
What previously announced changes will take effect January 1, 2021? Patient access for VSP network doctors remains VSP’s top priority. With that in mind, we made some strategic adjustments in 2020 to increase our ability to win contracts that put patients in your practice. The pandemic has accelerated the need for additional shifts to protect your VSP patient base at a time when economic and unemployment pressures are creating unprecedented competition for clients and members.
